Buddhism & Non-Violence Discussion to Be Held for First Time ……………………………………………………………………………………….. Yangon, June 10 Based on the information inquired from the organizers, the first discussion by the name of “Buddhism and Non-Violence” will be held at the Royal Rose Hall on June 11th The people leading this event will be Igor Blazevic (Education Initiative), Dr. Tin Maung Than (Myanmar Development Research Institute), and Sulak Sivaraksa (SEM). “We have used the normal protocol to resolve the conflicts in Myanmar, but it doesn’t work. So, we are planning this event to employ methods based on Lord Buddha’s teachings so that we can put an end to the violence,” reports a director from the Yangon School of Political Science to the Voice. According to the Yangon School of Political Science, 10 political parties, including the NLD, the 88 Generation Peace and Open Society, the Former Political Prisoners Society (FPPS), the chief of FPPS, the Civil Society, and other scholars have been invited to the said public discussion.
