Buddy Rich Traps the Drum Wonder performing Stars and Strips - TopicsExpress

Buddy Rich Traps the Drum Wonder performing Stars and Strips Forever at age 12 in 1929. Already a stage performer for over 10 years, Rich began his illustrious career when only 18 months old. His parents, Robert and Bess Rich incorporated their young son in their vaudeville act billed as Traps the Drum Wonder. When this recording was made, Rich was already performing as a bandleader. At the peak of his childhood career, Rich was the second-highest paid child entertainer in the world. Notice that Buddy is playing accents and quick patterns with his foot on the bass drum, at a time when most seasoned drummers could barely play their foot in four.
