Buddy went back to the hospital for his first post-surgery check this afternoon, and because he is seeing so well and behaving so normally (even with his plastic collar) that Birthe (and I) expected him to get a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, it turns out that his intraocular pressure is above normal, and it did not come down within half an hour after corrective drops were given. So he ended up spending the night and they will attempt to improve matters. Pressure usually means his aqueous fluid is not draining properly and could cause glaucoma. The surgeon is confident that he can fix the problem without further surgery but Birthes fingers are crossed and she is a little sad. Happy pictures were before we got the bad news, of course.
