Buddys journey began in 4-18-2003 he was born the grandson of Kilburns Chocolate Sundown, who was a grandson to Old Tobe. ( foundation breading of the Rocky Mt Horse) I don’t have a lot of information on the mothers side I am told she was a Tennessee Walker. He matured to about 15.3 H and and is about 1100lbs. Buddy was purchased by me in 2006 from Charles Krikorian from Tennessee. I had him briefly and sent him off to Ro-No Ranch owned by Nola Kyle for basic training, that I felt he was lacking. He spent several months at Nola’s getting his foundation work. About this time we discovered the Parelli program and in 2008 we spent a week doing training under Gina Torelle who at the time was a level 3 Parelli instructor. Buddy experienced the level 1 and 2 aspects of Parelli. We discovered Suzanne Myers , Next Level Horsemanship where he schooled in her knowledge for 1 ½ moths, bringing him further along in his training. His response was brilliant. He is the kind of horse who loves to figure things out. He will stand for hours to figure out how to open the door. I joined the savvy club and put Buddy in as a prospect for the Parelli Extern Program in Reddick Florida. He left my house on Oct.13 2010, to be used by a extern from England. I received a call mid Dec asking me to consider letting him stay on at the Parelli Ranch for a few more months. By the completion of the Parelli Florida experience was finished, He was used by 3 ( one ex-tern only used him for 2 weeks) different ex-terns while at the Parelli Ranch. He was in training for a total of 6 months. I have all documentation from both ex-terns on his progression while in the program. He also has a Horsanility Profile, where he rest mostly in the left brained introvert position. He has also has a good beginning in liberty both under saddle and on the ground. Since that time I have worked intensively with him in his round penning and trail riding. Buddy is at the point where he needs experience in trotting and cantering on the trails. I am 54 years old and he is a bit much for me to handle at a trot or canter. I feel that is where his training is lacking. He needs someone with the energy and youth to just full out go. I just cant do it. In the recent past I have had a shoulder surgery and a broken foot, and family responsibilities that restrict my time and ability. Buddy does not gait, never did. At times I Can feel something in his gait but just that fast it is gone. I never worked on that, It was more important to me to have a safe horse. I would not recommend Buddy for a beginner, he needs someone who has experience and knows how to handle an intelligent horse. I use him for trail riding and I feel he is just bored to death, I believe he would do best in an environment where he has a purpose and is worked with, to achieve it. He is extremely athletic and I believe if you worked with him in any discipline he can succeed. I have lots of video, If you want to see something specific please just ask. My asking price is $6,500. Please serious and caring people only. 570-427-2392
