Budget cuts, low enrollment, seeming lack of interest from anyone - TopicsExpress

Budget cuts, low enrollment, seeming lack of interest from anyone in charge, and overall slowness of such a large state school have prevented the animation and video game program that I had hoped to be a big part of from starting anytime soon, so Im leaving. I wanted to thank my students from the past semester for being the silver lining to my otherwise pretty much horrible time at Kutztown this semester. The students I did independent studies with: Chloe Kunsman, Brian Martin, and Abe Kane (and unofficially Out Loud) are already doing amazing things! Some students I didnt have in class, but only interacted with at the Design-A-Thon, like Nathan Hurst, Laurmageddon Gillespie, and Isaiah Arpino. I had some great freshmen students as well who helped me get through morning classes, including the comedy trio of Rachel Zuppo, Sam LeVan, and Nick Bogert. My Illustration Techniques students like Olivia Carberry forced me to push my traditional skills and also introduced me to great things, like Bee and PuppyCat. There were also the perfect score type students, like Kalyn Kates and Christina Davies, who are great examples of what college students can be, always going above and beyond with their assignments and making sure things were as good as they possibly could be. Im sure Im forgetting some people, but anyone who has taught can tell you that the students are the reason that you do it, and I was very fortunate this semester to have some great ones. If youre ever in Seattle, let me know.
