Buenos Dias F/B Bros and Sisters, it is a sad but blessed Tuesday. Sad because once again the scourge of drug addiction and substance abuse has snuffed out a brilliant light that gave us so much joy and many opportunities to laugh out loud. His name was Robin Williams. But one has to ask himself or herself this question: Why would a man or artist of his great fame, stature and success want to take his life or for that matter be so depressed that he would choose to take his own life? I wont pretend to know the answer to that but I do believe that in the end, fame, stature, and/or success does not necessarily lead or equate to happiness, peace, fulfillment or joy. Oh it may give you maybe a better life style or be the conduit to more material stuff in this world but what good is it to have gained the whole world but loose your soul in the process? Please, I am not saying he lost his soul but what was his condition in reference to his relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ? Only Robin knew the answer and hes no longer with us. My hope and prayer is that in the end he had time to repent and accept our Lord as his personal Savior. In John 14:6 Jesus himself said: I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me. I say this because, as most likely Robin once did, we all go around thinking, Oh that only happens to other people not me and continue on about our day like cattle with blinders on. Well Gods Living Word says that when death comes for us, it comes like the thief in the night, no one knows the time nor hour!? So it is incumbent upon us to ensure that when our appointed time comes to shed these earthly shackles, we know both where we stand and that well be on our way home. Our existence here on earth is finite but with our Lord our existence is eternal! With that said, I want to express my deepest sympathy to Robins wife and family and I close with this thought: In the movie, Dead Poets Society, Robin Williams states But only in their dreams can men be truly free, I submit to you that the only way one can achieve this idea of true freedom is through our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept Him as your personal Savior, get to know Him before its too late! Blessings always! BV
