But it can also be the wild electronic improvisation of one-man band JeffRepeater, and the solo electronics of David Kane. And what the heck, even the pop-tinged sounds of Buffalo Music Hall of Famer Joe Rozler. But I Thought You Said It Was Jazz, this Friday, December 12 at Nietzsches, will certainly stretch the traditional definition of jazz to its breaking point, but breaking points have always been a jazz tradition. Stretching rhythms and extending grooving passages are what define jazz; and this group, whether they sound like jazz or not, have a knack for doing just that.
