Gold News intercepted a secret tape recording in which the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bugri Naabu was alleging that Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong are being paid by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make the flagbearer of the party, Nana Akuffo-Addo unpopular. According to him, this is not the first time the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP has made damaging statements that has the tendency of dividing the party. “I am surprised that the leadership of the party has been mute on this, especially the elders of the party. I mean this is bad. This is very bad. This can’t happen in any civilized society. If such a damaging statement has come out of Bugri Naabu, I don’t know what is happening. Listen to the tape and you will be shocked. The whole leadership of the party is silent,” he condemned. Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe also entreated the leader of the party, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo to openly condemn the content on the said tape.
