Buhari to ban facebook, twitter, and other social networks Strong investigations have emerged yesterday that the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari will ban facebook, twitter and other social networks from Nigeria on assumption of office. An inside source close to General Buhari who pleaded to remain anonymous confided in our reporter that the General is not happy with the way he has been receiving knocks and criticisms on the social media since his emergence as the APC flagbearer. The APC presidential hopeful has thus expressed his intention to put a stop to these social networks on assuming office. This was to forestall any criticism of his government by the people, the source disclosed. General Buhari who was know for his disgust and hatred for citicisms promulgated the famous decree no. 34 in 1983, that banned the press from publishing any news item against the government when he was military head of state.
