Building Bridges Scripture And there arose a sharp disagreement, - TopicsExpress

Building Bridges Scripture And there arose a sharp disagreement, so that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus, but Paul chose Silas and departed, having been commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. Acts 15:39-40 Observation Paul and Barnabas were good mates and had travelled extensively together seeing many miracles and salvations occur. Paul had a beef with Mark of some sort and the argument got heated. Paul and Barnabas go their separate ways. Thats not the end of the story though, because Paul and Barnabas get back together later to continue Gods work (1 Cor. 9: 6; Col. 4: 10) and Paul and Mark become the best and closest of friends (2 Tim. 4: 11; cf. Col. 4: 10; Philem. 24). Application Disagreements arise even while doing the work of God but they shouldnt be allowed to fester into hatreds and schisms. Who knows when it may be advantageous for God to bring you back together with your Barnabas or build a deep beneficial relationship with your Mark? I must learn to forgive and be charitable to those I come into conflict with because maybe, someday, I will need them in my life in a pivotal way. Prayer Forgive me, God, for not always being as charitable as you would have me be. I am distressed to think of the burnt bridges behind me. Help me to be better in the future and to rebuild where necessary.
