Building partnerships between law enforcement and our communities - TopicsExpress

Building partnerships between law enforcement and our communities is key to reducing crime and the fear of crime. Last night I had the opportunity to participate in an open dialog between residents, local law enforcement and criminal justice officials hosted by the Melbourne Police Community Relations Council at the Grant Street Community Center. In addition to answering some great questions, I was able to speak one on one with residents to discuss ways that my office can respond to their concerns and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. I’d like to thank President Yvonne Minus and the Police Community Relations Council for their invitation and dedicated service to improving our community. I’d also like to recognize officials from Melbourne and Palm Bay Police Departments, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Corrections, Chief Assistant Public Defender Michael Pirolo, and Judge David Dugan for their participation and assistance. If your community is interested in hosting a similar meeting, I’d be happy to appear and speak with you. Contact my office by phone at (321)-617-7510 or by email at [email protected] -Phil Archer
