Building quilt boxes for my new hives this spring. I plan to put a quilt box above the brood boxes and another one beneath my screened bottom board. Im hoping that it allows ventilation but no draft, absorbs moisture, and deters hive pests (quilt boxes will be filled with cedar chips and covered in #8 hardware cloth). Note: they are intentionally painted dark due to cheap cost of OOPS Paint and my hope that it helps convection/ventilation in the hive. Comments/suggestions appreciated!
