Bunge Updates... The Security Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2014... The National Assembly will have two special sittings tomorrow at 9.30am and 2.30pm largely on Security Matters. On the agenda will be - Consideration and Approval of Report on the CS Interior Hon. Nkaissery is the nominee. We will then have Committee of the Whole House and Third Reading of the Security Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2014. Several amendments have been proposed by the Legal Affairs and National Security Committees. Most of the clauses cited will be amended but we have to remain focused on creating an enabling legal framework to confront the current security challenges and especially enhance co-ordination of the Security Agencies in the fight against terrorism. It is important to remember rights are not absolute and certain limitations to rights are envisaged even by the Constitution itself. We all deserve to be in a secure country....
