Bureau of Meteorology Queensland Regional Office TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for DAMAGING WIND, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES For people in the Wide Bay and Burnett and parts of the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Northwest, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts. Issued at 5:18 pm Wednesday, 17 December 2014. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in parts of the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Northwest, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Barcaldine, Hughenden, Richmond, Julia Creek, Mitchell, Tambo, Springsure, Marathon, Pentland, Injune and Carnarvon National Park. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones over the next several hours in the Wide Bay and Burnett and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Maroochydore, Gympie, Kingaroy, Noosa, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Toolara Forestry, Yarraman, Gayndah, Mundubbera, Biggenden and Eidsvold. A 93km/h wind gust was recorded at Julia Creek at 4:00pm. A wind gust of approximately 100km/h was recorded at Roma at 4:30pm. Golf ball size hail was reported around Cooroy between 4-4:30pm.
