Burial records and photos during the Nanjing Massacre released China’s State Archives Administration has released the 5th episode of the #NanjingMassacre archives series. Thursday’s release focuses on the burial records & photos of the site where the victims are buried. Since the fall of Nanjing, charity organizations, including the Nanjing branch of the #RedCross Society of #China, took charge of burying the bodies. According to statistics, the first group of Nanjing Red Cross Society buried nearly 13,000 bodies & the second group buried over 10,000. The figure only accounts for a small number of victims. The numbers from a Nanjing charity group & an eyewitness report that there were about 260,000 Chinese killed by Japanese soldiers during and after the massacre. The limited manpower and resources, plus remote and damaged burial sites, has prevented a full accounting. Watch the video for more.
