Burt Reynolds and Rock Hudson, rescued OTTB and Warmblood geldings, are feeling fat and sassy after two weeks of all-you-can-eat alfalfa hay. Burt still has the sunken-in shelf along his spine from emaciation, but its gradually receding, as each day goes by on his new diet. Hudson similarly has a lot more weight to go before his topline will fill in. Both boys still appear quite wormy after their ivermectin doses last week, so we will be stepping it up to daily wormer to address what appears to be a major parasite load. Considering how much dried manure they consumed to get by, leading up to their rescue, it shouldnt be too much of a surprise.. But Burt and Hudson are hunks all the same.
