Buruji Kasham wrote on Former Gov, Gbenga Daniel “My dear good people of Ogun State, the wolves who came in sheep clothing, hoodwinked us and stole us blind, with an unimaginable level of violence, are lurking around again. They were nothing before they got into power. But in a moment of self-delusion, one of them called himself the “Lion of the West” – and he did exhibit all the destructive tendencies of a lion. As if that was not enough, after attaining national and political prominence through the PDP, he has now dumped the party for Labour Party (LP). Now, realising that he no longer has any political clout, he has been dropping the name of Mr. President with a view to using same to garner the people to his side. In fact, the other day at the Abeokuta meeting held by ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo, he told the gathering that former Governor Gbenga Daniel told him that Mr. President instructed him to move to Labour Party but when he asked the President, he denied giving such a directive. The same man, who plunged our dear state into a debilitating debt that it is yet to recover from, seeks to come through the backdoor to cover his tracks. In spite of the N58 billion fraud that has attracted the attention of the US government; the multi-billion naira iron-rod duty waiver allegedly perpetrated at Gateway Holdings during the tenure of his protégé, Mr. Gboyega Isiaka as Managing Director and the unimaginable level of violence, this man still lays claim to integrity! You can now see why I said earlier that the word “integrity” is either relative or means a different thing altogether. These people also lay claim to integrity! I urge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to revisit the iron-rod scam, among others, and charge the suspects to court; otherwise I will be left with no other option than to instruct my lawyers to go to court to compel EFCC to do its job in respect of this scam”.
