Bus Bombs in Dongguan After an explosion that caused two deaths and injured 32 aboard a Guangzhou City Bus on July 15, Dongguan’s coach stations have increased security protocols, adding manpower and portable metal detectors to check the belongings of passengers. Regular inspections of safety equipment are said to be reinstated on a three month cycle. The Dongguan Public Security Bureau and Dongguan Traffic Police will give safety lessons to bus drivers in the future. A poll done by the Southern Metropolis Daily found that only 30 percent of nearly 30,000 random respondents would do something if they saw a passenger with contraband boarding a bus.
