Bus Transportation from Kota Kinabalu to START line for TMBT 2014 Dear competitors, Please note we cannot do changes or alterations to the bus transfers as it is far too late and it will involve a number of changes to the plans we already have in place A race director must always mantain the right to oversee the logistics of the race and to also use the assets he has available to him in order to be able to move 800 runners 4.30am from Kota Kinabalu to the START line for the TMBT 2014. It is important individuals are reminded that no one runner has the right to demand what types of buses are to be used and if he or she and his or her friends should be given seats exclusively on a 10 seater bus together or if they are put on a 40 seater bus. I think some individuals seem to think just because they have paid for a bus transfer fee they are entitled to make demands that are not a norm in the running community. We are not a tour company nor are we inclined to do things the way certain individuals want us to. We do what needs to be done based on what I have to do as far as fitting 800 runners departing from 2 different locations and to get everyone to the START LINE based on the assets available to us. It would be better If certain individuals were unhappy with the arrangements and seat allocations to perhaps re-consider their plans and to perhaps liase with their local tour agent or hotel to help arrange a personal van or transport to the START line instead. This would perhaps be a better alternative. We are at a critical point in time with the race less than 10 days away. We need to focus on other critical work and logistical work on the race course and not be submitting and re-submitting amended bus transfer lists every other day to the companies handling the bus transfers.
