Bush & Cheney Should Be Charged with War Crimes Says Col. Wilkerson, Former Aide to Colin Powell I do not want to see Bush & Cheney indicted. This would result in nothing positive for America. We would in many ways be simply emulating other nations. In America the ballot box is where we express our pleasure or displeasure with elected officials. Better far if the American body politic would turn most Republicans out of office in 2016, and give them a vacation and time to think about how they disgraced our country and made us the pariah of so many in the Middle East. Notwithstanding, Col. Wilkerson is to be commended for his inward and objective appraisal of his own party. This is the kind of man the Republican Party needs in a place of major leadership; to help the Party find its way out of the morass of mendacity and mediocrity. We need two viable Parties, but we dont need a political party that is bought by big money and that is filled with hostility and hatred of its opposition to the extent that it will go to any ends to thwart that which is positive and good for all Americans. We need men and women in both Parties who live under the influence of the Great Enlightenment with its emphasis on Reason vs. emotion and commonsense vs. stupidity. It has been on the shoulders of the Enlightenment that the Western world has developed and prospered.
