Business Manager Savage Ames Williston, North Dakota Major Purpose: Give business and financial support to Savages Ames Joint Venture near Williston, ND, where Ames provides water management solutions to E&P companies in the Bakkens Oil and Gas Fields. Apply online at savagejobs.applicantpro/jobs/50127.html Responsibilities / Job Duties: • Assist the Vice-President of the Ames JV with the establishment of financial and operating performance standards as well as monitor the system for the Ames JV • Analyze and interpret operating and financial data related to the operations of the Ames JV and utilize the information for business performance improvement. • Manage the data collection hardware and software to ensure timely information is received from each of the water depots • Manage and report to government entities water volumes used at each depot to ensure permit compliance • Study financial effects of operational cost changes and decisions (equipment purchases, employee wages, staffing plans, etc.) • Understand, implement and monitor accounting processes and controls for the Joint Venture • Perform various activities including the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, etc. • Ensure and coordinate financial reporting accuracy and timeliness (Daily Financial reports, KPI reports, monthly Projection and Variance Analysis, month-end processing and reporting, etc.) • Guarantee the integrity of contractual fees and activities as set up or modified in Daily Operating system (DOPS) • Prepare and improve annual business plans and budget presentations • Complete monthly projection and variance processes • Create pro forma models and perform sensitivity analysis to assist in the evaluation of market opportunities • Perform S7 Appraisals at the Operations and work with the operations on their S7 scoring and utilization of the S7i, and see through implementation • Create solid, well-thought out proposals utilizing strong writing skills • Perform recordkeeping duties related to the operation such as employee files, invoices, expense reports, etc. • Coordinate people and equipment resources • Work with accounting and information system staff to identify problems and implement solutions • Provide communication between Savage Support Center and the Operating Unit. Become the go-to person for SSC employees, as issues arise in the Unit. Requirements/Qualifications: • Adaptable with a willingness attitude to fulfill a wide spectrum of financial tasks; from creating complex financial pro forma models, to processing accounts payable and receivable. • Not afraid to get dirty and spend time at water depots in the field, troubleshooting and fixing any issue that may arise with the data collection system • Willing to live in Western North Dakota, a remote boom town location • A strategic thinker. A person who possesses good analytical skills that aid in solving challenging problems • Advanced Excel Skills Required as well as proficiency is the other members of the Microsoft Suite. • Exhibits strong communication skills in writing, verbal communication, mannerisms, group settings and training environments • Excellent understanding of accounting and financial principles, and experience applying them in a business environment • Demonstrated ability to create complex financial models; who can then convert the results into logical and precise presentations for customers or internal parties • Willing to relocate at some point in their career at Savage • Exemplifies the Savage Leadership Competencies: Integrity, Communicator, Strategist, Mentor, Innovator, Collaborator, Energizer • Desire and ability to grow into other positions such as operations, commercial development or Unit Leadership • Must also be willing to visit industrial facilities such as refineries, oil fields and rail facilities.
