Businesses Giving Back Today Sheriff Bill Oldham and volunteers with the Shelby County Sheriffs Emergency Services Division received valuable lifesaving equipment from Firehouse Subs. The Firehouse Subs Foundation donated an AED to the Sheriffs ES Division. The SCSO ES personnel have already had an opportunity where one of these devices help save a life and it is our hope that if they are in a situation where this is needed they will be there ready and able to help. The SCSO ES Division is comprised entirely of volunteer personnel for all walks of life. These are people who are driven to get involved and give back to their community. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm.
