Businesses along the border seem to be getting fed up with the hysteria about the invasion of South Texas by Central American children. While sheltering them is straining resources and budgets in cities like McAllen, there are no reports of kids being picked up by the Border Patrol with machetes or AK-47s. In fact, if you look at crime rates, McAllen ranked 34th-lowest among US metro areas in 2012 and the rate dropped another 2.8 percent in 2013. I havent been able to find any stats for 2014. Ill update yall if I do - and if I find any evidence that Texas actually needs a law enforcement surge along the Rio Grande, for any reason other than to enhance Rick Perrys presidential ambitions. riograndeguardian/business_story_working.asp?story_no=7
