Businessman Bashar al-Masri is worried about his visionary planned - TopicsExpress

Businessman Bashar al-Masri is worried about his visionary planned city, Rawabi, as Israel, for no explicable reason and despite publicly made promises, has continued to delay and not come through with water for the future city. Why should we care? Because Rawabi is full of potential: a modern city, a blueprint for the kind of place a Palestinian state could be, a peaceful response to those who say that Palestinians cant build, only destroy, this is project into which millions have been plowed to show otherwise. It employs thousands and develops economic opportunities far beyond those directly employed. This model city can only be a positive development for Israel, but apparently it bothers those engaged in the settlement enterprise. We also met with former chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, who is clearly distraught and at the end of his rope. Dedicated to a peaceful resolution to the conflict with a two-state solution, he says there is no partner for peace, and begs Israeli leadership, Stop feeling that youre doing me a favor when you make peace with me. #APNIsraelStudyTour
