Busy Busy Busy !! Last night must have been our busiest night ever !! Job 1 - report from one of the Heysham ferries of a distress flare over Fleetwood Search of the Fleetwood coast and several locations including Stanah and Skippool. In very stormy (force 10 gales) - nothing found Job 2 - requested to provide observation on the historic fishing boat that had been in the river since this morning, the boat was going to be moved into the marine area during high tide. Job 3 - while watching this boat, report via Lancashire Fire and Rescue of a person in the water at Skippool Attended scene to find several rescue tenders, North West Ambulance Service and Lancashire Constabulary arriving on scene. Due to weather conditions, and high flood waters, it was difficult to provide any visual observations - person found and handed to ambulance paramedics. Job 4 - return to job 3, vessel struggling to maintain speed in rough waters, RNLI providing assistance to tow boat into marina. Job 5 - 999 call - report of wreck on Fleetwood beach - attended scene to confirm that this was a previous wreck - false call with good intent ! Job 6 - back to the boat !! By this time it had been towed in to the dock area, assisted with tying up this boat and providing advice etc on sea safety !! So all this in a four hour slot - phew !
