Busy day exploring battlegrounds! Started at Fredericksburg then on to Chancellorsville, Wilderness and Spotsylvania Court House! Combined casualties for the first 21 days of May, 1864 from Wilderness and Spotsylvania were over 60,000! The fighting at the Bloody Angle was hand to hand with attacks and counter attacks lasting 22 straight hours! Stonewall Jackson died from wounds sustained from friendly fire at Chancellorsville. The National Cemetery at Fredericksburg holds the remains of over 15000 Federal troops less than 400 that were identified! Total casualties for the four battles in a 17 mile radius were over 105,000.
