Busy night in the northern states. The Titans won the South-East Queensland Derby with a late surge against the Broncos. Brisbane led through a Ben hunt try but a breakaway effort by David Mead was followed up by Aidan Sezer pouncing on a Ben Barba mistake to steal the win 12-8. At Penrith Nathan Merritt became the leading try scorer in South Sydneys history scoring his 145th to move clear of Benny Wearing in an 18-2 win over the Panthers. Kirisome Auvaa and Kyle Turner scored the other tries for the Bunnies. The Brumbies held on to beat the Reds in the Super Rugby at Lang Park. They led 20-3 midway through the first half but were pressed hard by Queensland before winning out 23-20. And in the A-League Newcastle Jets rounded off the regular season with a 2-0 win over Adelaide United that keeps their hopes of making the finals alive. Joel Griffiths got the opener while Adam Taggart looks certain to win the golden boot after the second goal for the Jets
