Busy week this week.... had my normal wed yesterday at the cancer center. Today I get to sign the papers saying my family wont hold the doctor or the hospital responsible if I dont survive the chemo regimine because its really high dose and about twice as long as normal. 8 straight cycles of high dose dexamethasone, revlamid and velcade combined with zomeda. 21 days straight on and 7 days off equals one cycle. And I find out if I qualified for an additional drug to be added on as well today. And tomarrow, I do my induction into the psych aspect of this. Apparantly, they think that being told I have an incurable cancer (nice way to say terminal) and all the pain that this particular cancer causes as it eats its way thru my bones, not to mention all the broken bones I am having, may be causing some depression. Gee, ya think? My surgery is set for the 20th to have all my teeth removed and dentures put in. They do not have to remove the left part of my jaw bone as previously thought. So thats good. The biggest concern now is getting an infection I cant fight off. And hopefully Ill get some better pain killers because the hydrocodone just isnt cutting it anymore. And I get to schedule a ct to see if there is a blockage in my intestines or if its just my bodys response to the pain. What fun! woohoo. see, no depression. :) bite me.
