Busy weekend....watched Layla and Tess Friday night, helped Jill with making gingerbread cookies... then shopped for food and finally ended up watching Lets Be Cops with the family Saturday night. Jill and Britt made cookies at the Oakley household all day today while I finished shopping for stocking stuffers. I came home and put a wreath on Mom and Dads graves in Seaford. I began to reminisce about all the presents they gave me....not material ones (we certainly werent wealthy) but ones that have served me well in my life. Dads presents were all about a strong work ethic, being a good provider for the family, treating his wife (Mom) with respect and love as if she were the most important person in the world and sharing his love of music through singing. Moms presents were showing us how to cook and clean (something Jill has said she appreciates on a daily basis) and how to be the best provider you could possibly be with having little to nothing (after Dad passed away). Merry Christmas, Mom and Dad....and thanks!
