But Hayes also played footage of Mullin telling constituents how he could tell by sight that one couple was abusing the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program. “This guy was built like a brick house,” Mullin said at the meeting. “I mean, he had muscles all over him. He was in a little tank top, pair of shorts and really nice Nike shoes. They were both physically fit.” Hayes also pointed out that Mullin accepted $370,000 in federal stimulus money for his plumbing business despite opposing the stimulus itself, which Mullins justified in 2012 by saying, “When somebody asks us to do a job, we don’t ask where the money comes from.”
