“But I am afflicted and in pain; May Your salvation, O God, set me securely on high. I will praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving. And it will please the LORD better than an ox or a young bull with horns and hoofs. The humble have seen it and are glad; you who seek God, let your heart revive. For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise His who are prisoners.” - Psalm 69:29–33 David looks forward to the time that he can praise God in a song of thanksgiving for his deliverance. The sacrifice of his lips in thanksgiving and song (Hebrews 13:15) is better than the sacrifice of a bull. Each act of deliverance is an encouragement to all those who wait for God’s deliverance. Those who are poor and those who seek God will be encouraged and join with him joyfully and be satisfied! Do you know your God well enough to know that deliverance is coming? Rather than complaining about your circumstances are you looking forward to singing songs of praise and thanksgiving for your deliverance? Are you aware of the audience that is watching you from the platform of adversity? Will they be encouraged or discouraged by your example?
