“But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.” - Revelation 21:22-27 As a child of the Most High God, Jesus Christ, have you ever stopped in you’re daily activity and wondered what our heavenly home will be like? We so busy involved in our work, the responsibilities of life and can forget that we’re only here on this earth for a short time. Revelation 21 and continuing into chapter 22 gives us a brief description of what our new home, the New Jerusalem, will be like as gave John a vision of our destination. Imagine the glory of the Lord being our light with no need of electricity or gas or water. He will be everything we need. There will be no night or darkness there. There will be no death, illness, desease or anything that brings defilement or intrusuion into our new home. The gates to our home will never be closed. It will pure, transparent glory in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because He will be our light, our water, our bread, and everything we need. And only those whose names are written in the book of life shall enter into it. Our natural homes are good, and have their purpose, but let’s not live like this is our only destination of residence. Let’s live like what it really is: temporary until our Father returns and takes us to our real home, forevermore with Him.
