But it also can increase your ignorance. It always depends on what you choose to read. If you only read that which agrees with what you already know or believe then you have done nothing to increase your knowledge or decrease your ignorance. If you read thing that reinforce your prejudices and beliefs and not things that cause you cognitive dissonance and challenge your beliefs then you are not only more likely to remain ignorant but cling to your ignorance.
