But something interesting happened in 2013, and many Senate Republicans went back to the old norm. They partnered with Senate Democrats to pass a bill that achieved Democrats key goal of creating a path to citizenship for unauthorized immigrants living in the United States. It also, as bipartisan bills tend to, advanced a number of Republican priorities.
