But this picture I took on the afternoon of St. Patricks day, - TopicsExpress

But this picture I took on the afternoon of St. Patricks day, after the snow had already begun to melt. Nobody was planting their potatoes that day, at least around here, I am sure. But Spring was still determinedly coming, as you can see from this cheeky little snowdrop. Ive actually quite enjoyed this winter - more of a New England winter, really- but perhaps now I can finally sing the last verse of To Drive the Cold Winter Away (an excellent 17th C. song) -- When White-bearded Frost has threatened his worst/And fallen from brush and briar/ Then Time away call from husbandry halls/And from the good countrymans fire./ Together to go/To plow and to sow/ To get us both food and array -/ And thus with content/the time we have spent/ To drive the cold winter away.
