But tomorrow may rain, so-ohh, Ill follow the sun.... what an Awesome song!! I love dancing and walking in a spring, summer, or early fall rain. They just have an exhillerating effect on me. Reminds me of the adventures of my childhood on rainy days. Skim boarding on a discarded piece of plywood on our stomachs, in the low places of the common shared yard, between our house and Grandaddy and Grannie Hartzogs place... Catching crawfish by hand in the ditch between our yard and the dirt road out front, I was always intrigued by those little critters as I watched them backing around in the old mayonaise jar... wading through the mud puddles, feeling the clay mud squishing between my toes... (you gonna get the ground itch Mama would holler from the porch.. GROUNDITCH? Haha! What the heck is that? We had already discovered by that time that Mamas make up ficticious reprecussions for stuff, to get a kid to stop having fun.. ie.. youre liver is going to turn over if you keep hanging upside down from that tree limb.. orr, No swimming for an hour after eating, youll get stomach cramps and drown!.. orrr, the best one of all, your eyes will get stuck that way if you keep crossing them and sticking your tongue out at your Brother! and the list goes on: +)....... and hey!... I must confess, I tried a few of those on my kids too, Heehee.. to no avail ~sigh~~ listening to the perfect harmony of the frogs, with some chiming in and out of their song, as they, in concert form, sang for more rain... Dancing like a crane with its wings spread out, loving the feel of raindrops kissing my face... riding in the car with my hand out the window on our trips to Grandpas farm in Malvern Alabama, testing the limits of my endurance, of the needle stick feelings of the rain hitting my palm at 40 miles an hour.. the cozy feeling I always got from the steady pitter patter of the rain hitting the window panes... and that ever so musical sound of the raindrops creating their own music, hitting the tin roof of the back porch, as the swaying sky poplar tree almost seemed to dance to its rhythm... many rainy day memories, that never fail to make me smile. Now on cold wet days like the last few have been, I prefer semi-hibernation with the warmth and comfort of being dry. Myyy, how time and circumstances change us... I still love winter rains, but it seems that my body has developed a love-hate relationship with it the last few years, as my Fibromyalgia, and RA put in their 2 cents on how they feel about those uncomfortable days... crummy? Uh huhh... but then, you learn to roll with the punches, and push the envelope, somewhat overcoming the desire to just chill the rest of the day, and you go right on in defiance of the demanded attempts to control your willpower and bring you down. It might bully me into some life modifications.... but I will never let it control me. I might opt out on some participation in the early half of a cold rainy day, but I wont be bullied into watching Discovery ID, or the Gameshow Network, with my buddy, the heating pad, for even one, whole day. Yesterday, I felt like I had been run over by a truck.. a couple of times. Today?.... not pain free, but Ive felt like a million bucks! Just the ups and downs of living each moment to its fullest with Fibromyalgia. : -) you Fibro-friends know what Im talkin bout. Life is worth living no matter what kind of ups and downs we (everybody) face and deal with. Because its precious. And sometimes how we deal with those ups and downs can inspire someone else with the strength to carry on when theyve lost hope. But if tomorrow it rains.... I can wait for the sun. : -) Happy Thanksgiving to you all, My Friends!
