But we cannot escape or fail to acknowledge the pain of our National trauma. We are called to mourn with those who mourn and to weep with those who weep. Many hearts have grown calloused with indifference. Others feel the need to mind their business, as long as the happenings up North have no direct personal effect on them in the South of the country. Yet, calloused indifference to pain around us is a sign of degeneration into moral failure.
