But what if it’s not that easy? What if not loving you is more illogical than loving you? I’ve been told that sometimes love doesn’t make sense, but loving you is what makes the most sense to me. It makes more sense to me than anything ever has. I have searched for reasons to stop, and have come up short. The only one in existence is your lack of the same feelings toward me. But love was never about that, was it? Love has never been dependent on reciprocation. When we find someone that takes our breath away, that changes the way we see the world, that we would rather share our thoughts with than sleep to dream, we don’t love them on the condition that they feel the same. We love them regardless. We love them because of who they are. So if emotionally, I cannot deny it, and logically, I cannot argue it, how do I stop myself from loving you? I could search forever and still come to the conclusion that I don’t think I can. There is just nothing about you I can stop myself from loving. And while it is true that it is painful and tragic, in some twisted way I also find it to be one of the most beautiful things in the world—the fact that you are so wonderful, so special, so indescribable, that even when unrequited, my love for you still continues to live on as an unstoppable force, refusing to give up and refusing to give in.
