Buxton had a taste of thundersnow this morning. Does not happen often but not unusual either. Really having it all this week. Before I go on, all in Macclesfield right now and even the sun is out as I am writing this. Following up on yesterdays warning posted for heavy snow tonight and tomorrow morning. Details remain unclear. All I can do is say what it is looking like right now. It is looking like snow is likely still, although it may turn to rain after a short time before turning back to snow. We are looking at a reasonable chance of snow being the main weather overall though and it is very likely tomorrow morning when many of you wake up it will be a white scene outside with no doubt some traffic problems as well. Will firm up later the details and timings and indeed if snow will still indeed fall. Right now it looks like it will do. Its a very difficult situation to predict, even John Kettley would be stuck with this one!
