Buyer Contractor - interior SP This position is responsible for purchasing commodities and services to ensure maximum value, best delivery dates, and meeting manufacturing requirements: Analyze demand placed by planners and place orders at suppliers - maintain control of all orders on required commodities assuring the on time delivery of the orders. Assist the Manager in acquiring information needed for analyzing the performance and efficiency of the department; assist in determining major projects for the Purchasing group. Provide guidance to department and Division personnel in the procurement of commodities and services to meet price, quantity, and delivery requirements. Ensure maximum value through the use of competitive quotations, value analysis, etc. Analyze / develop suppliers’ ability to meet Division’s requirements based on their manufacturing capabilities such as facility size, ability to meet delivery commitments and engineering performance. Analyze market conditions to assist material Planning personnel with regard to the proper lead times and pricing for future procurement patterns. Recommend new systems and procedures within the Purchasing and Business System areas, and participate in-group projects to resolve problems and formulate future plans. Communicate with suppliers to obtain knowledge of new materials, promote interest in new product development and develop new sources of supply. Assist Planning personnel with regard to the disposition of obsolete, excess of defective material. Resolve unclear packing slips, invoices and memorandums to insure prompt availability of material and timely payments to vendors. Promote cost reductions through the analysis of purchased material application and through negotiations on cash discounts, freight terms and commodity management. Closely monitor and take decisive action to operate within receiving budget for purchased assigned to assure success of plant inventory objectives. Perform special assignments, as directed by Purchasing Supervisor/Supply Chain Manager. Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)* • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Administration, Logistics • Self-directed, self-starter with negotiating skills, good communication and interpersonal skills are required. • Knowledge on ERP/MRP, Excel, Fluent English, SAP experience • Contract Negotiating Skills • Understanding of key financial metrics • Experience in a supply chain function is preferred Buyer Contractor ccarneiro77@gmail
