Buying kids gifts and showering them with everything they want even when they are bad kids doesnt teach them good morals. It teaches them poor ethics. They learn that whether they are good or bad makes no difference of their reward. If a child is given a car when it graduates and another is given a car when it drops out of school then what is the standard? We as parents must stand for something or we will fall for anything. A well disciplined child usually ends up successful and independent whereas a nondisciplined child usually ends up a free loading dependent pest. Which do you prefer? Even God chastises those who He loves. If his children do wrong he disciplines them. If they do right he blesses them. Those who continue to do wrong deliberately are cut off from him. He never knew them; even their good works are forgotten. We should think more like God.
