By Daniel Haulman, 28-31 July 2010: The Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated national convention met at San Antonio, Texas. During the convention, the members passed a resolution recognizing that sometimes bombers under the escort of the Tuskegee Airmen had been shot down by enemy aircraft, and urged that its members not repeat the “never lost a bomber” claim, and challenge the statement when it was made. The resolution supported the research results of the Harry A. Sheppard Research Team, led by Bill Holloman, and the research of other historians who had consulted the original documents at the Air Force Historical Research Agency. Tuskegee Airmen Bill Holloman had died the previous month.
