This is by far the best book I have read (in regards to riding and in general) because it was very well put together (Emerson backed up his statements by looking at successful riders and the author explained difficult concepts clearly). How Good Riders Get Good is a (for lack of a better term) step-by-step manual on how to become successful in the horse world. It focuses a lot on the riders psychology and explains why certain characteristics are important to have. I must admit that I was skeptical when I bought the book because Emerson addresses many different disciplines (Im a Dressage Diva now, but I did Hunter-Jumpers beforehand) but I just kept reading; and the more I read and thought about this book, the more I loved it. I would highly recommend this book to all riders; particularly to riders/trainers who want to be successful.
