Fence Sitters (no lunch): $10.00, Lunch each: +$10.00, Dinner: +$20.00 Number of Clinic places: Min 8 – Max 16 Closing Date for entries: 25th October A fantastic 2 day clinic that will concentrate on the movement of horses in teams and a basic introduction into mounted military drill movements. A great chance not only to aclimatise your horse to moving accurately while in close proximity to others and socialising them to performing dressage as a group but also an amazing opportunity to learn a new discipline in a relaxed and encouraging environment. By the end of the two days, riders and horses will be performing dressage movements as part of a four person team with grace, ease and a proper military bearing. Oh and did we mention you will be holding a sword too! The clinic will be instructed by: Tim Chamberlain - owner of “Back creek Horses” and renowned working equitation instructor who will be teaching all aspects of equitation and horse desesitisation. And Adrien Rousset - former member of the famous “Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery” the premier mounted ceremonial unit of the British Army. He will be teaching the Military aspects of the clinic, weapon handling and drill movements. The first morning will focus on the horses and socializing them to the others followed by an afternoon of basic drill movements working as teams of 4 riders under instruction. The focus will be in getting the horses (and Riders) relaxed and moving as a single body through the various drill movements. Each member of the team will have the opportunity of controlling the movements and guiding the team through them at various paces. Day two will start with each team performing the International Cavalry Association “by fours” movements, this will be done under instruction with Tim offering advice on equitation while Adrien offers instruction on the movement and bearing. We will then progress to performing the “by fours” single handed and then with swords drawn. This part of the day will be with horses in “full parade equipment” supplied by the Hussars. The second half of day two will, for those confident enough, be in “full parade kit” for both horse and rider. The teams will now be able to put together the training of the previous day and a half and demonstrate the full “by fours” movement with each movement being videoed. For teams that wish; the video of the team’s best test will be entered into the “International Cavalry Association” By Fours Competition and entry fee paid for by the Hussars.
