By JACOB POK Port Moresby police are investigating the murder of a son of an ex-PNG Defence Force soldier over the weekend. The body of the deceased was found on Saturday morning at the Taurama military barracks in the nation’s capital. NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Andy Bawa confirmed the incident yesterday, saying police were treating the case as a murder incident upon examining the body. The examination revealed a fractured skull with multiple wounds to parts of the body. Mr Bawa said police were currently carrying out investigations into the matter and appealed to residents and PNGDF soldiers at the Taurama military barracks to assist police in the investigations. According to Mr Bawa, the deceased is believed to be around his early 20’s and presumably killed the night before and left near the A company block of the military barracks. Mr Bawa said further details of the incident could not be disclosed until investigations were completed.
