By Joseph Ndunda A middle aged man has today denied four counts of robbery with violence including robbing a police officer of his gun in Kitsuru Nairobi last month, before a Nairobi court. Samuel Otengo was charged with the offenses that attracts maximum sentence before Acting Chief Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo. In the first count, he is accused of robbing Cpl. Patrick Murimi Wamae of his G3 Riffle loaded with 20 rounds of ammunition in broad daylight on afternoon of 23rd of last month. The court was told that after Otengo obtained the riffle, he went on robbing spree robbing Abdul Ramadhan Jabir, John Kioko and Michael Malewa of mobile phones and cash in the leafy suburb. He however denied all the counts. He told the court that police arrested him in a home in Kabete where he was a casual worker, took him to his house and ransacked it but did not find anything to link him to the robbery. He accused the police of detaining him for more than the constitutional 24 hours and pressing tramped up charges on him. The case will be mentioned on 9th of this month before hearing on 9th of January next year.
