Women have spent decades trying to please men, who look for women who possess these qualities. But, over the past two decades, women find themselves doing things for their own pleasure, as opposed to trying to please a man. As evidenced in the Jamie Foxx hit, “She Got Her Own,” many men find this attractive. It seems as if the description of the ideal woman and “She Got Her Own” were both written to describe Destinee. Both brains and beauty, Destinee is running several businesses. While handling her businesses, including the operations of Maybach Music Group Latino, Destinee has managed to do so in a graceful manner. The day-to-day of running a large company could stress anyone out. Many have no idea how active she truly is. From the moment she became a teenager Destinee knew she had a strong business mind. Her mother had a rough time raising three other siblings, an uncle, aunt, cousin, as well as Destinee. When she was six-years-old, her grandmother was hospitalized as a result of a gunshot wound in a dispute. The pressure Destinees mother endured during the beginning years of her life up until Destinee was a teen really took a toll on her. She ultimately knew that she had to do something to better not only her mothers life, but that of her entire family. Destinee first realized her calling at the tender age of 6 when her elementary school music teacher chose her amongst over 60 students to perform the song, Oh, Holy Night, live before her peers in a Christmas pageant. Her performance swept the entire audience. She realized at that moment that all she wanted to do was sing. Through her middle school years, Destinee continued to hone her craft by writing poetry and composing songs as a hobby, never knowing the impact that this would have on her life, on her career. It was common for teachers and even principals to display her work on their cork boards and their walls with pride. It became the norm for her, it branded her being to the point where writing and music became a part of her that would envelope her entire life forever. Before beginning High School. Destinee was approached by an artist by the name of Ugly who was part of the well known Miami group, Nasty Boys. He expressed that Luther Campbell Music (a label owned by the world famous Luke of the 2 Live Crew) was searching for a female R&B artist/ writer to add to their growing roster. Thats when she began to work with Jullian Boothe, the A&R of Luther Campbell Music. Everything from that point on was history. The opportunity to meet and network with the music industrys most renowned professionals would prove to be one of the most pivotal experiences in her career, allowing her to catapult her dreams to a level she never knew existed. Throughout the following years she traveled around the globe performing for audiences worldwide; something she never in her wildest dreams would have expected. Audiences were infatuated by her ability to create her own style of music yet, still adapt to and evolve with the industrys many trends. Destinee later became involved the THC CREW, co-founded by her mentor and business partner, BaRock Urbano. When she initially met BaRock she was just an R&B singer. Little did she know that BaRock had other plans in mind for his new prodigy. Slowly but surely he was determined to embed the formula of Hip-Hop in Destinees world in a manner that would push her career to yet another level. Within a matter of a few weeks, Destinee was writing, recording, and performing her own material like never before. Now, she wasnt just an R&B singer, but a rapper, as well. This transition formed an inexplicable bond between the two that no one could deny. From then on, they were known to be the most popular power team in Miami. After years of loyalty, hard work, and dedication, Destinee was given the position of Vice President of Maybach Music Groups Latin division, Maybach Music Latino. BaRock Urbano and Rick Ross had been working together for years. When Rozay asked him to be president of the label, he thought, “Who else to be Vice President of the label, but Destinee”. As VP of Maybach Music Latino, Destinee oversees all of the production that comes in and material that the team puts together, collectively as well as on a solo standpoint. She is also the first lady of the company. She sings, raps, records, and performs all of her own material. She also runs The Urban Union Recording and Print. It is another joint venture that they took on about seven years ago. It has proven to be very lucrative considering their careers as artists. Together, the also created a company named The Urban Union. At The Urban Union, they not only have a place they can call home (they record all of their material in their state of the art recording facility), but they also provide a vehicle for up-and-coming artists to present their talent to the world. At The Urban Union they also provide printing (i.e. flyers, CDs, business cards, t shirts, vehicle wraps, etc.), graphic design, marketing and promotions, and plenty more.
