By Lesley Campbell-Austin... This year, I have created a very different Christmas video. One Hundred Years ago, on the Western Front (Luxembourg and Belgium and later France) during WW1, a temporary cease fire occurred over the Christmas period of 1914. The temporary cease fire was orchestrated by German soldiers. History records the event as the Christmas Truce in “no man’s land” and became known as the enduring image of the triumph of mans spirit over adversity during times of war. The video tribute is to commemorate one day in 1914, Christmas Day. In this video, those involved were the Germans, the French and the Scots. With Susan Boyle singing, Silent Night and Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace, it brings home the sacrifices made by millions. Please share this Christmas tribute video in memory of all Defense personnel who fought for Peace. Merry Christmas everyone.
