By MTNFootball Friday Sep 06, 09:55 +0200 Didier Zokora walked away from the Ivoirian’s camp on Wednesday night. The Trabzonspor’s player allegedly left for an unknown destination after being stripped of the arm-band in favour of Didier Drogba, and the coach’s refusal to grant him a leave on his arrival. « Maestro» will therefore miss the sixth and last day of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against the Atlas Lions this Saturday at the “Félicia”. The record holder for Côte d’Ivoire appearances has asked the coach to grant him a leave on his late arrival on Tuesday with Diarrassouba Ousmane Viera. But Sabri Lamouchi rejected his request since he was late for the pre-match training camp. The French-Tunisian also informed him of his decision to give back the arm-band to Didier Drogba, prompting the abrupt departure of the veteran. The coach’s attempts to reach him remained unsuccessful, but Lamouchi wished to play down the incident on Thursday evening. «The most important thing for me is the national team. Nothing and no one will come first when it comes to the Elephants. Nobody is irreplaceable». And although the former French international has admitted that «Zokora has a lot on his minds at the moment, » he wished to insist that «the national team belongs to no one but the Ivoirians». It is the reason why he asked them again to come in numbers on Saturday and push their team to victory against Morocco. Because that game is important « in the perspective of the two games to come in October and November. We have to be in the best dispositions to take on those encounters, » added the Elephants’ coach whose only objective is Brazil 2014. «Nothing or nobody will prevent me from going further and my hope is to reach that goal.
