By Sang Blessed Mendy Baboucarr Camara: A point of correction here my brother, people are missing the point and the Observer publication never stated that Bombarda has nominated Kaba Bajo, what it did said was that the former minister is a vice president at the Brikama based club. The paragraph that people refereed to reads: Sources close to Kaba Bajo further told this medium that the former Gambia sports minister who is a vice president at newly promoted first division club, Bombada FC of Brikama was nominated by all the seven regional Football Associations except Lower River Region. The School Football Association, Young Africans, Banjul United, Real de Banjul, Hawks, Sait Matty and Serekunda East are also said to have nominated the career diplomat. The sources further intimated that Brikama United and Bombada are also some of the teams backing Kaba’s candidature, with the latter thought to have earlier proposed Kebbeh for nomination as well. So can we please read between the lines cuz this portion saying that Bombarda and Brikama were some of the teams said to be backing Kaba doesnt mean that I was insinuating they have nominated him, and in fact I went onto state unequivocally that Bombarda had earlier proposed Kebbehs name for nomination. I have been monitoring this debate going on since the weekend but pls I will urge the stakeholders not to twist my article for their selfish interests pls. Pls I wouldn’t mind to clarify if you don’t understand my language, but I will not allow is to watch and my name is being used for football politics. No one can sully my reputation. He was reacting to my earlier post on the denial of Bombada.
